Cookie Policy
Version 1.0 · Ascendum Corporate Advisory LLC d/b/a Ascen Tax USA · Effective for https://ascentaxus.com
1. The short version
We use cookies and browser storage only to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not run advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, marketing pixels or data brokers, and we never sell or share your information for advertising.
2. What we actually set
- Authentication session — a secure, HTTP-only cookie and an encrypted browser storage entry that hold your signed-in session token. Without it you would be signed out on every page. Expires when your session ends or after 15 minutes of inactivity (Publication 4557 auto-signout).
- Security tokens — short-lived values used for CSRF protection and for two-factor verification when you edit your SSN.
- Interface preferences — for example whether your left sidebar is collapsed. Stored locally in your browser and never sent to us.
3. What we do not set
No Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok, LinkedIn Insight, retargeting, fingerprinting or third-party analytics profiles. Your tax data is never used to build an advertising profile, and it is never disclosed for marketing — IRC §7216 prohibits it and so do we.
4. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because our cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them will prevent you from signing in, uploading documents or paying for a return. Signing out clears your session immediately.
5. Documents and files
Uploaded W-2s, K-1s and prior-year returns are not stored in cookies. They live in private, encrypted storage protected by row-level security, as described in our Privacy Notice and Written Information Security Plan.
6. Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will post the updated version on this page with a new version number. Questions about cookies, tracking or your privacy rights:
